Columbia Rewind reissue from the 90s of the first Trees album, originally issued in 1970. Formed in 1969, folk/rock quintet Trees used a similar blueprint to that pioneered by Fairport Convention, whose influence was unsurprisingly evident in the two Trees albums made for CBS and both released in 1970, The Garden of Jane Delawney, and On The Shore. The most obvious similarity to Fairport was that both groups had a female vocalist, Sandy Denny of Fairport and Celia Humphris. The other members of Trees on the two albums were Bias (short for Tobias) Boshell (bass guitar on the first album and also keyboard player on the second), lead guitarist Barry Clarke, David Costa (12 string and acoustic guitars, dulcimer, mandolin, etc.) and Unwin Brown (drums).
